Referral Tips

Making referrals requires some effort, but if you do think of it as a "job", it is one of the easiest jobs you could ever have. Some people are already making a living promoting pay-to-surf programs. Sometimes signing up just one "heavy hitter" can make your downline and income explode.

First of all, don't spam! Spamming is prohibited by most pay-to-surf companies, and can get your account terminated fast! In other words, don't send emails about your pay-to-surf programs to people you don't know, and don't advertise on (most areas of) usenet or other areas where this kind of advertising isn't allowed.

One of the best things you can do is get a website. I highly recommend getting a free Refmaker website. You don't have to know any HTML and Refmaker will list all your programs with your referral ID. They also automatically insert descriptions of almost every program. This is a great, easy way to get your own pay-to-surf website, ready for you to promote. You can also build your own sites. There are several sites that will let you do this for free, like Freeservers. There are even websites that will pay you to build a website, like Terrashare.

Once you have a website, you need to promote it. You can put up fliers (one person I know did very well with this), put ads in local papers, and tell everyone you know who you think might be interested. You can also put a "signature file" on the bottom of the messages you send out through email. Most email programs have an easy way for you to do this. It's also a good idea to submit your page to search engines.

Some of the best websites are about something totally different than the pay-to-surf programs, and just have a couple of links to pay-to-surf programs. Some people get a lot of sign-ups this way, so if you ever had an idea for a website, this would be a perfect way to make some extra money at the same time.

Some pay-to-surf programs also generate their own websites with your referral id in them. If you have a favorite programs, this can be an excellent way to promote it, without even having to make a website on your own. Log in at your favorite pay-to-surf program's website then visit the "referral" center (or it will be named something similar to that) to get more info on this.
